Tips for Searching

This is a blog, not a book, so there is no table of contents per se. But here are some tips for finding posts of interest.

Labels

All posts are indexed via labels; those labels are visible over on the right hand side of the blog. Click on a label and you'll get one or more posts in reverse chronological order from the date of their writing.

Search

There's also a search box (Search This Blog) in the upper right hand corner. Simply type in a keyword and you'll see posts that match. You can then sort by relevance, or sort by date (reverse chronological order from the date of their writing).

Things you might want to try searching on are notable persons, places, things, events. Examples from this blog in alphabetical order just to give you an idea:

African American, camino (as in Camino Real), cave, cemetery, Chisholm Trail, church, Civil War, Colorado River, Comanche, Davis, ford (as in river), fort, German, Hornsby, Indians, Bonnell (as in Mount), marker (as in historical), Native American, railroad, Reconstruction, republic (as in Texas), revolution (as in Texas), road, school, Secession, Smithwick, spring, trail, Wilbarger.

Historical Marker Database

There is also the Historical Markers & Signage page which provides a map and list of markers and signage in Travis County via the Historic Marker Database Organization.
